Message to Great Guji Yukitaka Yamamoto
Dr Yukitaka Yamamoto, a great leader in interfaith activities
passed into tranquil light on the 1st of August 2002. Here
in the presence of those from various walks of life who shared
strong bonds of friendship with the great Guji Yamamoto, together
we perform with reverence the solemn duty which is the memorial
service for the great Guji. By so doing, we offer our sincere
gratitude for the benevolence the great Guji has shown us
and for all his virtues, and we renew our determination to
dedicate ourselves to continuing the sacred task of interreligious
understanding and cooperation.
We earnestly pray that great Guji Yukitaka Yamamoto now together
with the good deities may gain lucid understanding of the
merits that we all have accumulated through the roots of goodness
of our practice and hear with compassion our firm vows. Show
forth your profound merit so that our great vow might be fulfilled:
that different religious people respect each other and deepen
mutual understanding collaborating for good works.

Message to Great Guji Yukitaka Yamamoto
We here have now respectfully recited the Lotus Sutra as an
offering made on the occasion of the memorial service of the
great Guji Yamamoto to express our gratitude and reciprocate
his great benevolence and boundless compassion.
Great Guji Yukitaka Yamamoto
Let us reflect on our wish to bring all living beings to
establish peace within our family, our community, our nation,
and the world. We renew our determination, with the teaching
of "Many in Body but One in Spirit," remembering
that you had such a generous and inclusive mind as reciting
Lotus Sutra from time to time, so that we may carry on the
sacred work of Guji Yamamoto.
We earnestly pray that the great Guji Yamamoto, from this
day forward, may bestow his protection upon us, and that he
together with the good deities, may recognize our practice
and our vows, and assist us to guide and teach others.
